This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase through a Wire Expressions online site (wireexpressions.com, wireexpressions.square.site, thevirtualmarket.ca/store/24 (Wire Expressions VIrtual Market Shop) or wireexpressions.etsy.com) referred to as the Site(s) or Website(s).

 

In simple language, Wire Expressions is committed to maintaining the privacy of your Personal Information, but there are various ways where we may need to use your information; this Privacy Policy outlines that for you.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT

When you visit Wire Expressions online Site(s), information about your device is automatically collected, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site(s), we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site(s), and information about how you interact with the Site(s). We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

 

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Additionally when you contact Wire Expressions or make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through a Wire Expressions online Site or when you contact Wire Expressions via the phone, email or in-person, we collect certain information from you, which may include your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number and/or payment information.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

 

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to Device Information and Order Information.

 

 

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders that we receive. We may use this Order Information to:

  • Fulfill your order

  • Communicate with you about your order or request;

  • Send invoices & receipts;

  • Arrange for shipping, pick-up or delivery;

  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;

  • Comply with legal and/or tax obligations;

  • Publish review information (when provided by you);

  • Provide you with email newsletters when in line with your preferences; and

  • To maximize our audience for any ad campaigns we may run.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site(s) (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with our Site(s), and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

USING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may need to share your Personal Information with third parties when we use your Personal Information as described above.  For example, to power our online store we use third party service providers.

Examples of how we may share your Personal Information with third parties are:

  • In order to power our online stores we use third party providers. Wire Expressions uses the services of Square, Etsy and The Virtual Market to sell our goods from. These service providers collect Order Information and Payment Information on our behalf

  • In order to ship your order, your Personal Information may be shared with the shipping company to fulfill shipping obligations and international customs requirements.

  • We also use Google Analytics and Statcounter to collect website user data. This data is used to help us understand how our visitors interact with our Site(s) so that we can improve design and functionality; for example, how visitors find our website, how long they spend on our site, which web pages they are most interested in etc.. We may also use this data to get the most out of any marketing campaigns we run.

Examples of website user data:

*  Time and date of visit

*  IP address (a numerical identifier assigned to a device by an Internet Service Provider which enables the device to access the internet)

*  Browser and Operating System

*  Device Information e.g. device type

*  Referring Data e.g. a search engine link and search terms or referring site link (such as Faceboo

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

All credit card transactions go through trusted third party payment processors utilizing end to end data-encryption. The only credit card information that Wire Expressions may have access to through these service providers include your name, type of card used, and occasionally the last 4-digits of your card number (depending on the service provider). If you send us an Interac E-Transfer, we only receive the information from your bank that is necessary to deposit the E-transfer.

BEHAVORIAL ADVERTISING

YOUR RIGHTS - If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

 

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.  Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

DATA RETENTION - When you place an order through a Wire Expressions through an online Site, via the phone, email or in-person, we will maintain some of your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. This information could include your name, address, phone number, email and specifics about what you ordered and the method of payment you used. Payment information (such as credit card numbers) is never stored.

MINORS - Wire Expressions online Site(s) are not intended for individuals under the age of 18, unless supervised by a parent or guardian.

CHANGES - We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.

Anti-Spam Policy

Express Consent & E-News

 

Wire Expressions will only send up to 6 emails per year to customers or individuals who have provided provided express consent to receive E-News or to customers who have made a purchase through our Square Online store. At any time please send an email or reply to Wire Expressions requesting to be removed from the Email News list. 


Existing Wire Expressions subscribers prior to July 1, 2014 who did not provide their express consent prior to July 1, 2017 have been removed from the Email newsletter distribution list. 

**IMPORTANT! In order to ensure quick removal, please either reply to an email using the email address the newsletter was sent to, or provide your name and email address that you receive the emails at. A one time confirmation of removal will be sent. If you do not receive this confirmation, your request may have been lost in cyber space...please bug us again to remove you!

**A note about posted contact information for Wire Expressions - The Canadian Anti-Spam Law states that the mailing address of the sender be on all email advertising communication. Wire Expressions is a small home business for the security of the artisan's family, this is information that will be provided on a need to know basis only.
